Barrier-Free Sanctuary (Strongsville, Ohio)
This project involved a specialized bathroom transformation in Strongsville, Ohio, designed to provide safety and ease of use for a homeowner managing a degenerative disease.
Demolition & Prep Work
We began the renovation by removing the old jacuzzi tub, vanity, flooring, shower valve, and cabinets. Upon discovery of damage caused by a previous contractor and water, we removed the subfloor and rebuilt it to ensure the new foundation was both level and sturdy.
Accessible Shower & Safety Features
To create a safe and functional environment, we installed a walk-in Flex Stone shower surround and pan. The space was further enhanced with the addition of multiple grab bars and a fold-down seat to ease the homeowner’s daily life through the progression of his condition.
Vanity & Lighting Installation
The remodel included moving electrical connections to accommodate a new lighted mirror after removing the outdated vanity light. We also installed a beautiful new vanity purchased by the customer and finished it with a brand-new paint job.
Flooring, Trim & Ventilation
For a clean and polished look, we installed new vinyl plank flooring and bright white trim throughout the room. We also replaced the non-functional heater/exhaust fan with a brand-new unit to ensure proper ventilation.
